Description
A pulsed-light pass box is a transfer chamber that disinfects items with a high-throughput pulsed xenon lamp while they move between clean and non-clean areas. The lamp emits intense pulsed ultraviolet light that inactivates microorganisms on item surfaces and in the chamber air. Per the source data, the unit reaches a 99.85% kill rate within one minute and full kill within five minutes, against roughly 30 minutes of exposure for a conventional ultraviolet pass box. Because the pulses carry high peak energy, the light penetrates shadowed and rough item surfaces better than continuous UV. An optional atomized disinfectant spray module can be combined with the light cycle to improve the disinfection effect on both smooth and porous loads.
